Sign Up Now for First Cooking Class Series!
Community Action Center is excited to announce a series of food management and cooking classes! The series is offered on Tuesdays, starting January 10th, and meets once a week for ten weeks. Classes last between one and two hours, depending on the topic.
This class will give you a chance to build your confidence by strengthening skills you already have, as well as sharing tips to make your planning and shopping easier! You also get the chance to taste new items, bringing ideas home with you. Lastly, sometimes it’s difficult to find nutrition information, and when we do—it’s often separated from cooking skills and recipes. This class will do all of these by addressing health, cooking, and community.
The first weeks will feature information about how to plan meals, shopping tips, skills for saving money on a budget, and cooking basics. By the fifth week, we move into our new Community Kitchen. This section of the series highlights healthy, inexpensive recipes, giving us all a chance to cook together. The final week of the series is a celebration with a guided “meal makeover” of common dishes, as well as a chance to sit down together, sharing food and recipes as a community.
