Why Give?

Since 1988, Community Action Center has been a private nonprofit organization, and a critical resource for the more than 14,000 people living in poverty in Whitman County. We support people to fully reach their potential through the following…

• Emergency Housing & Services
• Transitional Housing
• Housing Development & Self-help Home Purchase
• Housing Choice Vouchers (Section 8)
• Community Food, Gardens, & Kitchen
• Energy Assistance
• Home Weatherization

When you give, you are investing in your fellow community members to help them fully reach their potential, and to make your community a better place to live.

Make a Difference

As of 2015, Whitman County had the highest poverty rate in Washington State. Residents struggling on lower income are more likely to encounter quality of life challenges at every turn. Donations provide low income families with opportunities and hope in their time of need, helping with their well-being. Investing in Community Action Center’s work insures your support is provided directly to those around you, empowering and improving living conditions in the wider Whitman County community. Help us make a positive difference in your community by helping ALL community members reach their full potential, making your community, our state, and our nation stonger.
