Sunday March 26, 2017, 5 PM, at Gladish Community Center, in the View Room
Doors open at 4:30 PM

Fun, food & competition!

Join us as local chefs work with the Community Food Bank to create delicious, attractive & healthful meals from the food bank offerings, including a mystery ingredient that must to be incorporated into the dish!

Tickets are now available, $15 per person in advance, $20 at the door! Cash or check ONLY at door!

Based on television’s popular Chopped ™, the Chef’s Challenge is a competition where three local chefs have 30 minutes to create a winning dish using ingredients commonly available in the Community Food Bank. Just as Community Food Bank customers must prepare meals for their households based on what is available from our pantry on a given day, so too must the event’s chefs prepare a meal from a pre-stocked pantry. In addition, a mystery ingredient will be revealed right before the competition begins that must be featured prominently in the dish.

Chef Wohlfeil

Chef Lasof

Ryan Avery

The chefs will be two professionals and one amateur chef: Chef Will Wohlfeil of Southfork, Chef Matthew Lasof of WSU’s Northside Café, and Ryan Avery, a local amateur chef. Using the pre-stocked pantry that includes the mystery ingredient, the dishes will be judged by a group of local celebrity judges: Mayor Glenn Johnson, Joan Swenson of Paradise Creek Brewery, Chrisi Kincaid of WSU. THe emcee will be WSU Executive Chef Jamie Callison—and audience members can participate in a raffle to serve as a guest judge! The winning chef will be awarded the Golden Spatula.

Join us for some good fun and entertainment, all to support the Community Food Bank & Kitchen!

Limited seating for 175, with standing room only possible as needed.
