We have about 12,000 cloth masks to give away!
Just stop into our lobby ask our receptionist for a mask, up to 2 masks per person.
Thanks to the provision of masks from Whitman County Emergency Management, Community Action Center (CAC) will be handing out free masks from its offices in Pullman, especially for individuals and families who otherwise cannot afford them. Community members can stop by the CAC lobby at 350 SE Fairmont and ask for a mask, and CAC will give up to 2 masks per person.
With the recent Public Health Order requiring mask use in public, some families and individuals struggling with low income may have difficulty complying, so these free masks will be made available to all who request them.
For those who may need masks:
-
- The CDC recommends that people wear cloth face coverings in public settings and when around people who don’t live in your household, especially when other social distancing measures are difficult to maintain.
- Cloth face coverings may help prevent people who have COVID-19 from spreading the virus to others.
- Cloth face coverings are most likely to reduce the spread of COVID-19 when they are widely used by people in public settings.
- Cloth face coverings should NOT be worn by children under the age of 2 or anyone who has trouble breathing, is unconscious, incapacitated, or otherwise unable to remove the mask without assistance.
