Homebuyers

Homebuyer Education – MGIC for Homebuyers & FreddieMac CreditSmart are both on-line & free.  If you’re thinking of purchasing a home, now or in the future, the information provided will help you make a wise choice when you’re ready.

Free Credit Report – AnnualCreditReport.com Available once per year from each of the 3 credit bureaus (Equifax, Experian, & Transunion), but does not contain your score.

Free Credit Report & Score – CreditKarma.com Report & Score is provided by Transunion at no cost to you at any time.  There are useful tools, articles, and credit simulators for you to use.  Do not click on any ads or pop-ups – only use the site for useful information.

Credit Repair – eCreditAdvisor.com This company’s focus is getting your credit score increased so you can qualify for a home mortgage.  They offer a free consultation and have several different programs depending on your score and circumstances.  The programs they offer are not free but they have payment plans.

Habitat for Humanity – Palouse Habitat for Humanity builds houses in partnership with families that cannot otherwise afford their own home.  Partner families help to build their home with Palouse Habitat volunteers and then buy it at cost with a 0% interest mortgage held by Palouse Habitat for Humanity.  See their website for qualifications and to see if they are accepting applications.


Energy Efficiency, Conservation and Sustainability

Energy Hog – An educational site on energy efficiency and conservation for adults and children k-8.

Alliance to Save Energy – A link to the Alliance to Save Energy which is a coalition of prominent business, government, environmental, and consumer leaders who promote the efficient use of energy worldwide to benefit consumers, the environment, economy, and national security. The Alliance is a nonprofit 501(c)3 organization.

Every Little Bit – A site that is sponsored by Avista Utilities. This site offers valuable information and insight on energy efficiency, conservation, and energy rebates.

Go Green – This web portal was launched in July 2008 to remind people to be mindful of and sensitive to the natural environment in our daily life. The main objective of the site is to increase the awareness of environmental issues that affect the future of the planet.

Green Home Guide – The “Ultimate Guide to Green Home Resources to help you reduce your home’s level of waste and carbon while still maintaining squeaky-clean floors and bright lights.”

Green Living Tips – A site that offers tips on how to live a greener more sustainable life.

ENERGY STAR – ENERGY STAR is a joint program of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and the U.S. Department of Energy helping us all save money and protect the environment through energy efficient products and practices.

Northeast Washington Housing Solutions – Northeast Washington Housing Solutions (NEWHS) provides homes for 4,365 households in five counties including Whitman County.


Whitman County Utilities

Avista Utilities – A site which offers energy rebates for Avista customers and information on energy efficiency and conservation.

Clearwater Power Company – A site which offers energy rebates for Clearwater Power customers and information on energy efficiency and conservation.

Inland Power and Light Company – A site which offers energy rebates for Inland Power customers and information on energy efficiency and conservation.

We operate out of the Community Action Center which is located in the Fairmont Center Business Center, at 350 SE Fairmont Road.  We are located between the Wheatland Mall (Ace Hardware, Arby’s, McDonalds) and Pullman Building Supply on Fairmont Road.
